Ayyapanum Koshiyum – Review

#AyyapanumKoshiyum Fully satisfying film after a long time, meeting and exceeding the hype on it. I love when ego is portrayed in right and realistic levels in movies. (Same thing what mega Serials are messing up)

This is one of the reason why I loved Aadukalam.. Same way this movie beautifully captured the grey area of Aiyappan and Koshi.. With Typical realistic Immersive Malayalam making and politics throughout the movie.

Even though it is about the fight between two leads, all other supporting characters are so impressive and make sure they are not forgotten. Just loved Kannamma character, a naturally Bold tribal activist. This is Prithviraj’s second best performance only after Kaaviya Thalaivan( imo).

Movie Didn’t go so artistic, instead had several mass moments at regular intervals. Film is 3 hrs long. As reviews said, there was little dull moment in second half, I watched it in two equal sessions. It worked and didn’t experience any lag. Highly recommended. Available in Prime.

PS: Heard Tamil remake rights bought by Aadukalam producer.. Hope he also felt this aadukalamish feel in this movie.. Can go ahead with VJS and Karthi playing Ayyapan and Koshi characters respectively..

Parasite – A poverty Porn ?

Americans would have consumed #Parasite as ‘poverty porn’. That doesn’t make it as one. Especially the critics of poverty porn should be knowing this. This movie is his most nuanced yet strong criticism on not just class differences but upper class mentality.

Exploiting korean market could be one of reasons for the academy to celebrate this movie. But ‘The best picture’ category is mostly reserved for the films that are in compliance with american system only. Be it glorification of wars or white savior films.

Parasite is not just a misfit but opposite of it. So its no less feat considering the filmography of Bong Joon Ho as well as the history of academy.

So its silly to call this award as undeserved. It always is. Im Just glad, this guy who has been labelled as anti-american and anti-capitalist has made the americans bow for his creation that speaks his class politics without making compromise.

Parasite – Korean – Spike Lee Connection

These are clips from the movie ‘Do the right thing’ directed by Spike Lee.In the escalated climax sequence, blacks burning down the Pizza shop run by Italian White supremacists.After white police brutally killed a black guy while arresting.So blacks then will march towards korean shop to ravage it also.Korean owner defends saying ‘Im also black only’.He will successfully convince the blacks that they both are same.Oppressed are all same indeed. #Bahubali Tamil Movie? Bilingual? Dubbed?

Some reputed news portals sharing articles saying Bahubali Tamil ‘Dubbed’ which is nothing but pure ignorance. Bahubali is clearly Bilingual.

Three things are important are Bilingual.

1. Dialogues /Lip sync.

2. Casting

3. Props/ Atmosphere

1. Dialogues/ Lip SyncNone can complaint the Dialogues and Lip sync ( excuse songs) in the movies. shots are taken with dialogues both in Telugu and Tamil with lip sync.

2. Casting SS Rajamouli brilliantly casted Faces popular among Tamil Audiences like Satyaraj, Ramyakrishnan, Nassar, Tamannah ..

3. Props / Atmosphere Since Bahubali is Fantasy drama set in fictional kingdom. no need to change Atmosphere, visual representation of letters used. A relief for Team Bahubali in this dept.

Actors would have put double efforts in every talky portion. Even more efforts for Tamil than for Telugu. Simply calling it as Tamil dub would make them unhappy.

In behindwoods interview when the anchor asked Prabhas, when will you do a Tamil movie.. Prabhas furiously instantly replied Bahubali is Tamil Movie. Don’t belittle their efforts. As far as I know only three dubbed movies are hit in Tamil.. Amman, Arundathi, Maaveeran.. A Tamil dubbed Bahubali with full Telugu cast would have earned half of what it earned now.

Peer Pressure to accept Manirathnam Movies

இங்கே பிரச்சினை மணிரத்னம் படம் நல்லா இருக்கா இல்லையா என்பதல்ல.. எல்லா படங்களும் எல்லாருக்கும் பிடிக்கவேண்டும் என்றல்ல.. தனக்கு மணிரத்னம் படம் பிடிக்கவில்லை என்பதை உணர்வதற்கும், அதை ஒற்றுக்கொள்ளவதற்கும், அதை வெளிப்படுத்துவதற்கும், மற்ற படங்களை போல அதையும் விமர்சித்து கேளி செய்யும் சூழல் உருவாகியுள்ளது என்பது தான் சிறப்பு..! பிம்பங்கள் உடைக்கப்பட வேண்டும்.

We must get rid off the influences of the Opinion Makers who have been deciding what we should like and not for decades.. PS: Naanum oru Closet Maniratnam Fan thaan. Iruvar romba pudikum.. Innum liked few of his movies independently and most of his movies with influence and peer pressure.. But Kadal Kellam Moochu podala.. Let me see and tell this one ..

Mullum Malarum

I highly strongly sincerely seriously recommend this movie to everyone.. Have seen this just thrice.. Every time the emotion in the movie keeps on increasing..

Just saying this movie as Rajini’s best, Bro-sis sentiment is an understatement.. This movie much more than that.. (But Your opinion about Rajini might change permanently after seeing this movie.. Those who hated Kabali must see this movie to understand who Rajini was and why we loved it)

The only thing comes to my mind to describe this movie is ‘Mullum Malarum’ ( Hope you get it)..,
Other than the much talked chemistry between Rajini and Shoba, the chemistry between Rajini and Sarathbabu is least talked.. Tats one wonderful piece of work well exhibiting the issues like POV, perceptions, Ego, Hatred, misunderstandings, prejudice, a lot more..

I really doubt this kinda movie is possible in near future…

PS: Metro guys who never come across the life of villagers, poor, commoners may find difficult to feel it.. Movie does have that period’s clichés and cinematic stuffs, yet very very raw in the emotions it has brought out from the actors..
Again, I highly strongly sincerely seriously recommend this movie to everyone.. Thank me later..

GVM movies, Artificial or beautiful or visionary?

Sony claim tat their TVs display TRUE colors. Samsung claiming tat they enhance colors for better viewing experience. Some may be happy with the so called true colours. Some may be happy with the so called enhanced artificial colors..

It’s not like that artificial is bad provided it gives pleasing experience.. Apdi thaan Gautam menon padamum.. Dad asking his son to bring gals to home and talk may seems very artificial for you.. But such a cool dad is beautiful na? Allowing his daughter (Gal) to stay in her friend’s house where her brother (Boy) also there.. It’s not common in our society.. But it’s beautiful na? Knocking the stranger’s door and getting accommodation even after saying myself and my sister’s friend gonna stay for a night may seem artificial..

But if such a liberal mindset is beautiful na? Divorced woman with child falling in love with a man with zero hesitation.. It’s not common in our tight society.. But it’s beautiful na?? Tats what GVM movies is about.. Only issue is feel is people shouldn’t start hating what they have and living in a dream world ..

நாம் பரிட்சைக்கு படிக்கவில்லை என்று ஒரு குற்ற உணர்வில் / குழப்பத்தில் இருக்கும் போது நம் நண்பன் ‘நானும் பரிட்சைக்கு படிக்கல மச்சான்’ என்று சொன்னவுடன் அந்த குற்ற உணர்வு/குழப்பம் நீங்கிவிடும்.

அதேபோல் நாம் பரீட்சையில் ஃபெயில் ஆகி வருத்தத்தில் இருக்கும்போது நம் நண்பனும் ஃபெயில் ஆகிவிட்டான் என்று தெரிந்தால் வருத்தம் போய்விடும். பரிட்சைக்கு படிக்காமல் இருப்பதற்கோ, ஃபெயில் ஆவதற்கோ வருத்தப்படாமல் இருக்க பழகிவிடும் ..

ஒரு பெரிய அடி விழும்வரை.. அந்த Support ஒரு நாம் தனி ஆள் இல்லை என்ற துனிவை கொடுக்கிறது. நாம் உயர்ந்த சாதி என்றும், நாம் ஆளப்பிறந்தவர்கள் என்றும், மற்றவர்கள் நமக்கு கீழ் என்றும், நாம் கோபக்காரர்கள் என்றும், சாதி கவுரவம் தான் பெரிது சொல்லி வளர்த்திருப்பார்கள்.

இப்போது, சிவாஜி கமல் போன்ற பெரிய நடிகர்கள் படத்தில் ‘போற்றி பாடடி பெண்ணே தேவர் காலடி மண்ணே’ னு பாட்டு வருது.. உச்ச நட்சத்திரம் ரஜினிகாந்த் படத்தில் ‘எஜமான் காலடி மண்ணெடுத்து நெத்தியில பொட்டு வைப்போம்’ னு பாட்டு வருது.. கதாநாயகர்களே சாதி அடையாளம், சாதி பெயர்களைத்தாங்கி, தாங்கள் மற்றவர்களை விட மேலானவர்வர்கள்னு காட்டுராங்க..

அதுபோக அடிதடி வேற பன்றது.. மிகப்பெரிய விஷுவல் மீடியாவான இந்த படங்கள் மூலம் நாங்கள் தனியாள் இல்லை என்ற Support கிடைக்கிறது இந்த சாதி வெறியர்களுக்கு.. இப்போ இந்த படங்களால் மட்டுமே கலவரங்கள் நடக்கபோவதில்லை..

ஒருபுறம் சாதிகளை ஒழிக்க குறைந்தபட்சம் சாதி ஏற்றத்தாழ்வுகளை, சாதி கலவரங்களை, கவுரவ கொலைகளை ஒழிக்க போராட்டங்கள் நடந்து கொண்டிருக்கையில்,

இது போன்ற சாதியை தாங்கிப்பிடிக்கும் படங்கள் அவர்களிடம் உள்ள சிறு குற்ற உணர்வு, குழப்பம், மனிதநேயத்தை தகர்க்கின்றன.. மாற்றத்திற்கான போராட்டத்தை நீர்த்துப்போக செய்கின்றன.. அதையும் மீறி சில அதிமேதாவி கூட்டங்களும் இது போன்ற படங்களை ஆதரிக்க ஒரே காரணம்.. தன் சாதியை, அல்லது மொத்த சாதியமைப்புமுறையையும் தூக்கி பிடிக்கவே ஆகும்.

Uriyadi

#Uriyadi – A Brave attempt that completely focuses on the #Caste#Politics. Not a msg type.. But Entertaining at parts and completely thrilling..

Good Story, Fresh scenes, engaging screenplay, BGM all are good. Still I feel something is missing to make it a great movie. Dunno whats tat. Over all very good movie. Pure #Violence.. Realistic as possible..

You won’t regret for watching this movie if you started accepting the normal boy next door faces of the hero and other leads in the very beginning..

The way the director showed the ‘thoughts’ is unique and it serves the purpose of exposing the dirty cruel minds of the caste politicians.

PS: If Dr. Ramados face comes in your mind while seeing this movie, Nirvaagam Porupalla. Looks like Just to avoid that, The story was set in Trichy suburbs since no one could relate the story with this region..
