Revolution acquires fun ! – a social media story

I was a late entrant to smart phone world and so the whatsapp. After I bought my smart phone and started using whatsapp I found the reason for decrease in active facebook usage by users. I felt bad when I come to know that people are becoming less active in facebook only because of whatsapp.

If I say facebook and whatsapp are competitors, many will think me as fool. But as MBA student I was taught like that. “Need remains same but only the way to fulfil it varies.” According to this economists will say coke and pepsi are rivals but they have common competitors tea and coffee. I hope it will be easy for common people to understand why whatsapp is major competitor for facebook. And it is globally accepted that whatsapp reduced active Facebook users.

Is whatsapp really worthier than facebook ?

Facebook and twitter together proved their potential to make peoples’ revolutions while whatsapp did nothing great like that so far.

Some saying that fb too restricts global interaction. It allows social interaction between people of same culture/ country/place only and it started boring now a days.

If someone says like that it means they haven’t used the facebook efficiently. I have people from Iran, Egypt, Bangladesh in my friends list. I even chatted wid them .I fought with north Indians in fb. There are pages. If we use them effectively. It will never be a boring thing to you.

Then also they continue to say that only very few are like that many giving friend requests only to increase number. What I’m saying is facebook gives space for all these things. It is our duty to make use of them.

What whatsapp did ?

Many people dont want to be active in fb because their needs are satisfied within their phone contacts through whatsapp and few more extension in the name of groups. It was not the scenerio before whatsapp. While using facebook many used to come across several social things or at least saw social posts.  Even though they didn’t involve much.

Everything started with chat only. Our intention to be in fb was to chat, then slowly we come across shares and status and we got interest in them, like that only we started using facebook and became very active in it. To generalise things we can simply say everything is for communication only. But what they extra offering is important.

Facebook gives complete profile presentation, chat, connectivity with frenz , a global platform to share our views as a revolutionary tool and fun also. Whatsapp offers chat, group chat, fun.  Nothing more than tat. But we people replaced fb with whatsapp. Fb became just for formality thing .

Whatsapp was not supposed to give competition to fb logically. But we people helped for that. People and whatsapp mutually restricts ourselves.

Why Facebook ?

Reading news from official Facebook page of any news paper/channel let you know about what people thinks about the news and their pure reaction. It is made possible through comments. And tats were Facebook stands high.

Pages are the powerhouses

Liking a facebook page costs me nothing. And anyone can like any pages of their interest. If they do so facebook will never become boring.

For example if you liked a football club page, Post may be supporting the club but not the COMMENTS.

Comments only will give you the opinion not the post. By seeing different people’s opinion and views we are free from becoming biased. When tastes differs conversation will heat up as fights. Fight may be stressful but at the end if you will get some conclusion and mind will become peaceful. Keeping it as healthy conversation is up to you. We always need healthy conversations to make decisions and to believe something. Healthy conversations do bring revolutionary ideas. And facebook offers more and more than that And it was in course of making people to change from being chat oriented. Whatsapp grabbed that chance by letting the people remain chat and fun oriented. I hope fb will make some change with this acquisition and people will again get connected to society through facebook instead of  just chatting in whatsapp. Twitter is equally good as facebook in bringing social awareness but they couldnt keep a friends circle/network like facebook.

Again saying, whatsapp is no  match for Facebook .

மனம் மாறிய முதல்வர் ? மறந்த மக்கள் !

    இன்றைய நாளில் தமிழகம் முழுவதும் தமிழ் பற்றாளர்களால் கொண்டாடப்படும் தமிழக அரசின் தீர்மானம் வட இந்தியர்கள் மீண்டும் தென்னாட்டவரை அரக்கர்கள் போல் பார்க்க வைத்துள்ளது !
காரணம் தமிழக அரசு விடுதலை செய்ய வேண்டும் என்று சொல்வது முன்னாள் பாரதப் பிரதமர் ராஜீவ்காந்தியின் கொலை வழக்கில் குற்றம் சாட்டப்பற்றவர்கள் !
ராஜீவ்காந்தி கொலையில் உள்ள நியாயம், மர்மங்கள் ஆகியவற்றை பலரும் பலமுறை அலசிவிட்டனர். நம் பிரச்சனையும் அதுவல்ல. மாண்புமிகு தமிழக முதல்வர் செல்வி ஜெயலலிதா அவர்களின் நிலைப்பாடு தான் !
கலைஞர் உட்பட அனைவரும் முதல்வருக்கு பாராட்டுகளை தெரிவித்துவிட்டனர். ஒரு மாநில முதல்வராக அவர் நிறைவேற்றியுள்ள தீர்மானம் கண்டிப்பாக துணிவான செயல் என்பதில் எந்தவித ஐயப்பாடும் இல்லை. நானும் அச்செயலை வியந்து பாராட்டவே செய்தேன். பின்னர்தான் வரலாற்றை சற்று திருப்பி பார்த்தேன் .
  இன்று இவர்களை விடுதலை செய்ய சொன்ன அதே முதல்வர் அன்று பிரபாகரனை தூக்கிலிட தீர்மானம் நிறைவேற்றியுள்ளார், நளினி தூக்கிலிருந்து ஆயுள்தண்டனையாக குறைக்கப்பட்டதை கண்டித்துள்ளார், கொலையாளிகள் அனைவரும் தண்டிக்கப்பட வேண்டும் என்று முழங்கியுள்ளார்.
  அத்தகைய நிலைபாட்டிலிருந்த ஜெயலலிதா எப்படி இன்று இப்படி மாறினார் . உண்மையில் அவர் மனம் மாறினாரா ? இந்த மாற்றத்திர்ற்கு என்னென்ன காரணங்கள் இருக்கலாம் என்று பார்ப்போம்..
அரசியல் பலன் கருதி இதை செய்திருக்கலாம் .தமிழர்களிடம் அதிகரித்து வரும் ஈழ ஆதரவை உணர்ந்து வேண்டா வெறுப்புடன் தமிழக மக்களை மகிழ்விக்க இதை செய்திருக்கலம்.

குற்றவாளிகள் போதுமான தண்டனையை ஏற்கனவே அனுபவித்துவிட்டார்கள் என்று நினைத்திருக்கலாம்.
பிரபாகரனையும், விடுதலைபுலிகளையும், அப்பாவை இலங்கை தமிழர்களையும், தமிழ்நாட்டு ஈழ ஆதர்வலார்லையும் வேறுபடுத்தி பார்த்திருக்கலாம்.

காரணங்கள் இப்படியாக வாய்பிருக்க மக்கள் இதை பற்றி என்ன நினைகிறார்கள் ?
மக்கள் அனைத்தையும் மறந்துவிட்டனர் என்பதே கசப்பான உண்மை. இப்போது பாராட்டுகளை கொட்டிக்குவிப்பது போல் பாராளுமன்ற தேர்தலில் ஓட்டுக்களை அவரிடம் கொட்டுங்கள். அனால் இதை காரணமாக கூறவேண்டாம் என்று மட்டும் கேட்டுகொள்கிறேன் ! பின்னர் மரதி நம் தேசிய வியாதி என்று சொல்லியதை மீதும் அதை நிருபித்ததுபோல் ஆகிவிடும்.. மனம் மாற வைப்பு கொடுங்கள் . அனால் மறந்துவிடாதீர்கள் .
மறுபடியும் என் பாராட்டுகளை முழுமனதுடன் துணிச்சலான நம் முதல்வருக்கு தெரிவித்து கொள்கிறேன் ! 

Meaningful resignation

He was in hunger strike against corruption
He created party to stand against corruption.
He contested elections to fight against corruption .
He formed minority government only in the hope of passing anti corruption

Who is #coward ?
#Kejriwal or the  Congress and BJP MLAs who opposed anti corruption bill .. ???
Yeah he his #incapable..
Not in governing the state but in passing the bill successfully with minority govt.. Will fix it in re election
He is #bold enough
to throw his CM post not his policies like other politicians .

Do we know really ?

I want to start this article with my Facebook status that came out in anger

“During 2011:
Tamil people: we ll throw out dmk from rule. they did 2G scam..
Indian: wat s 2G scam ??
Tamil people: we dunno, dmk did 2G scam and raja should be punished..

Now:
Tamil people: we gonna vote for modi because gujarat got developement..
Indian: oh good.. In wat way gujarat developed ?
Tamil people: we dunno, gujarat s developed and we ll vote for modi..
Indian: namaku vaaitha adimaigal migavum thiramaisaaligal  .. Dedicated to tamilnadu #MOsaDI fans.. ”

I hope you got clear idea about what I am saying.

Unlike many north Indian states Tamil people got to knew about any news and political situation and controversies. And i appreciate that. But I am not sure we know in-depth or at least the full story of the news. We got this habit Probably because of our Tamil newspapers  i think in which  we people always read only the attractive headlines and not the original content of the news. I can understand that in our busy life cycle we don’t even have time to read any news fully. But is it good to believe just what the headlines or the main theme of the news ?

Many of my friends said said that they are supporting Anna Hazare to pass Lokpal bill. I also hearing those news at those times and i too felt that we need that bill to be passed in the parliament. When i asked my friends about Lokpal bill, i got just same few words “Anna Hazare”, “Lokpal”, “anti-corruption law”. Really i didn’t any other explanation from them.

Similarly in case of 2G scam i got only few words like “Raja”, “Kanimozhi”,”DMK”, “corruption” . thats all

and recently When asked about Modi , I am getting replies as “Gujarat”, “”Development” ..

Why are we like this ? do we really know completely about trending news ?

When I keep on thinking about this, i found that media have significant responsibility for this poor attitude of our people. They want hot news to increase their TRP rating. For that they keep on stressing about a news for a particular period even without giving clear understandable explanation for common people  And as soon as the current news get cools down they move on to next issue. We people also used to be like that. I am expecting a change in this. we people shouldn’t get confused or convinced without knowing the full story.

What we have to do for that ?
